“Azalea has taught me what it means to walk in right relationship with this sacred medicine, and for that, I am forever grateful. I will carry this experience in my heart for the rest of my life.”

“While I’ve embarked on many self-guided microdosing experiences, this time was profoundly different.

Having Azalea as my guide made the experience far more potent than when I’ve microdosed on my own.

The care and safety with which she approaches this work, coupled with her deep indigenous wisdom and extensive study and practice, have opened new doors for me and brought me into deeper connection with my body, mind, and spirit. This connection has completely transformed how I relate to the medicine and my healing process.”

If you feel called into a deeper relationship with psilocybin mushrooms and you’d like to walk that path guided by integrity . . .

WHY BEGIN THIS JOURNEY ?

After learning about psychedelics through the lens of Western therapy, I spent years learning from Indigenous elders & medicine leaders who have been working with psychedelic medicines for thousands of years. (Mazatec, Shipibo, Mexica)

The tools that I learned in Indigenous apprenticeship helped me to navigate psychedelic experiences and the medicine path with deep care, reverence, and spiritual safety. These are tools that I could NOT find in the Western psychedelic movement.

This course is my way of sharing these sacred practices, ensuring they're respected and preserved while making them accessible in an ethical way to those who feel called to learn the way of the sacred mushroom.

Consuming the sacred mushroom alone immediately provides us with incredible physiological and psychological benefits. Expanding that consumption to conscious, ritual engagement has the potential to enhance our experience in ways we did not even know were possible: integrating unconditional love & gratitude into how we live our daily lives and extending that to the world around us.

This offering is born from a lifetime of

deep study and reverence.

While Azalea’s immediate family migrated to the U.S. from an Indigenous community in Jalisco & Azalea herself has been trained within Mazatec ceremonial traditions, she does NOT identify as Mazatec nor claim to speak for any Indigenous community.

Your guide for this apprenticeship is

the spirit of the sacred mushroom 🪶

… but here is more about your facilitator

Azalea Montaño-Kemp

Medicine Woman, Ceremonial Leader, & Psychedelic Professional

Through nurturing and intuitive guidance, Azalea specializes in blending Indigenous wisdom with modern psychology to help preserve ancient traditions in the modern day.

Her personal journey with plant medicines led to profound healing from PTSD, Depression, & Anorexia. This healing led Azalea to study deeper the psychological benefits of psychedelics, becoming a professional in the space.

However, coming from grandparents Indigenous to Mexico, she felt called to learn ancient mushroom traditions from elders and medicine leaders in the mountains of Oaxaca, eventually fostering a deep commitment to preserving these ancient practices globally.

She has undergone multiple initiations over years on this long term path of being a steward to plants, sacred lands, & ancient medicines. She has studied the sacred mushroom with the Mazatec people of Oaxaca, completed plant dietas with Shipibo people in the Amazon Rainforest [Peruvian side of the modern day border], trained in Temazcal facilitation with Mexica elders (pre-hispanic tradition), and continues to walk the pilgrimage of her ancestors to Wirikuta with the Wixárika (Huichol) people.

A life long student and teacher, she thoughtfully incorporates diverse healing traditions into her work integrating Indigenous healing traditions with modern psychology.

Azalea’s Further Qualifications Include:

➳ certification for Substance Abuse Treatment with Psychedelic Therapy

➳ 5+ years of facilitating psychedelic experiences globally

➳ 2+ years teaching at psychedelic educational institutes & conferences (The Microdosing Institute, The Fungi Academy, Australian Association of Psychologists Inc., etc.)

➳ 4+ years of advising research non-profits in the psychedelic space

➳ 3+ years of leading all-inclusive psychedelic retreats

➳ psychedelic journalist (published writing in 3 books + in-app educational content for international psychedelic company Field Trip Health)

Above all, Azalea considers herself a child of Mother Earth, here to inspire others to reconnect to our most ancient roots when we enter healing journeys with sacred plant medicines.

Our Commitment to the Earth & Each Other

This journey is a commitment to healing not just ourselves but our community and the Earth. We approach this work with reverence, reciprocity, and a deep responsibility to the Earth, our ancestors, and future generations.

This is NOT an official training course. You will NOT leave this journey with a certification of any kind to serve sacred medicine ceremonies. Although led with Indigenous wisdom, this journey is not an official initiation. As initiations in lineage require contact with Indigenous lands and elders.

However, this journey will provide anyone on a shamanic journey with the tools to navigate that with care, honor, and respect.
